The first Global ImmunoCourse, a sister initiative of Global Immunotalks, was held in IISc, Bengaluru. Global Immunotalks is an online, archived seminar series available on YouTube, featuring preeminent immunologists (www.globalimmunotalks.org).
Global ImmunoCourse is designed to introduce the fundamentals of immunology in an engaging manner and foster a global community of passionate immunologists. Classroom teaching is merged with Global Immunoforums – where students get to interact and ask questions to invited leading experts in immunology. The Inaugural Global ImmunoCourse was held December 11-22, 2023, hosted by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, and organized by the Global Immunotalks Co-Founder and ICIS Council Member, Carla Rothlin (Yale University, USA) and Siddharth Jhunjhunwala (Indian Institute of Science, India), with organizational assistance from Sourav Ghosh (Yale University, USA), Dipankar Nandi (Indian Institute of Science, India) and Lindsey Hughes (Yale University, USA). The Vision of Global Immunocourse is to delve into the fundamentals of immunology, engage in thoughtful discussions with leading experts, and foster a global community of passionate immunologists – keeping with Global Immunotalks motto: Inspiring immunologists across the world in an egalitarian manner.
This year’s invitees included Elina Zuniga (UCSD), Ann Rothstein (UMass), Neal Silverman (UMass) and Max Krummel (UCSF). lnstructors included: Siddharth Jhunjhunwala, Carla Rothlin, Sourav Ghosh, Vineeta Bai, Dipankar Nandi, Dipyaman Ganguly, Anjali Karande, Kesavardan Sannula, Sudha Kumari, Sveta Chakarabarti, Lindsey Hughes and Sophie Hapak.
