Welcome to new member, Dr. Gulten Ates Ulucay!

I am an assistant professor in the field of Physiology at Istanbul Yeni Yuzyil University, Faculty of Medicine. I have been focusing my studies on sepsis and experimental medicine since my postgraduate education. I completed my master’s and doctorate education in the Department of Physiology, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University and I continue my studies with our  team in here, have conducted many studies such as inflammatory pathways in sepsis, oxidant-antioxidant system, mitochondrial complexes, sepsis-related muscular damage, multiple organ damage and failure, apoptosis, profiling of electrolytes, trace elements and high-energy components in various tissues in sepsis, sepsis-related encephalopathy and the definition and effectiveness of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway. I have also used many therapeutic pathways such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and stimulation of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway as targets. I continue to work on sepsis models in experimental animals using many molecular techniques and imaging methods.
