I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at APC Microbiome Ireland studying the transcriptional regulation of T cell plasticity in the context of human chronic inflammatory diseases. I received my PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid and I was granted a Master’s degree from this same University on Immunology Research. My first postdoctoral research at Dr Ken Nally’s lab was performed in collaboration with AbbVie Inc. to identify novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with a primary focus on secreted proteins that induce interferon gamma-driven inflammatory macrophage states. I joined Prof. Subrata Ghosh’s lab to study extraintestinal inflammatory manifestations associated to IBD, specifically rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, and how the interplay between external cues and key transcriptional pathways determine T cell polarization and plasticity.
