Dr. GuanQun ‘Leo’ Liu, the recipient of the Cytokines 2021 Pfizer Junior Investigator Award, is joining the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University as an Assistant Professor in March 2024. Extending his research on RIG-I-like receptors and pandemic respiratory RNA viruses, the Liu lab will tackle fundamental mechanisms of antiviral innate immunity and leverage virus genetic remodeling to develop innovative antiviral therapies and vaccines. Dr. Liu is enthusiastic about passing on his successful research training experience to junior scientists and is dedicated to creating a research environment embracing care and inspiration. @leonardliu88
