If You Only Attend One Meeting this Year, Here’s Why You Should Choose Cytokines 2025

#image_title

The Cytokines Society Annual Meeting is the only international meeting focusing specifically on cytokine biology – covering basic, translational, and clinical research specific to the role of cytokines in health and diseases. This meeting provides researchers from academia, government and industry the opportunity for networking and to engage with global experts.

[Cytokines] has been a fundamental part of my career since my early work in Chris Hunter’s laboratory on IL-27 in the late 2000s, where I was incredibly fortunate to attend the Cytokines meetings. These meetings provided a great opportunity as an early career scientist to share data, connect across institutions, and build my network in a collaborative and collegial environment. – Aisling Hall, PhD

Seattle, known as the Emerald City, is renowned for natural beauty, vibrant street life, and commitment to both preservation of its history and progress in science, technology and beyond. It is well worth spending a weekend (or longer) exploring. Some highlights include:

  • Mike’s Chili Parlor is a century-old dive bar near Ballard’s shipping canal that serves meaty chili and cold Rainier beer* in the shadow of gentrification.
  • Tractor Tavern, the center of Seattle’s Americana music scene, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in Ballard this year.
  • The Electric Boat Company, an eco-friendly boat rental service, allows visitors to slowly dodge the seaplanes landing on Lake Union, where views of the downtown skyline and Space Needle abound.
  • Lincoln Park, a sprawling, wooded public area on West Seattle’s Puget Sound shore, has something for everyone, including a giant wooden troll named Bruun Idun.

*Well known to all who went to university in the Pacific Northwest!
