Extend Your Glasgow Experience: IFN-λ Satellite Workshop on October 22nd

If you’re already making the trip to Glasgow for Cytokines 2026, here’s a compelling reason to stay an extra day.

The IFN-λ Satellite Workshop 2026 will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at the Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute (CRUK-Scotland) on the Garscube Estate in Bearsden, just outside the city centre. Organized by Achille Broggi, Rune Hartmann, and Charlotte Odendall, this focused, one-day event is designed to advance the science of interferon lambda by bringing together researchers across disciplines for talks, collaboration, and – importantly – conversation.

The program will feature invited lectures from an impressive lineup of confirmed speakers: Ivan Zanoni, Deanna Santer, Emily Hemann, Andreas Wack, and Evangelos Andreakos. Alongside these expert talks, presentation slots will be selected from submitted abstracts, with a deliberate emphasis on early-career researchers, making this a particularly valuable opportunity for trainees and junior investigators to present their IFN-λ work in an intimate, expert setting.

Registration is free, and abstracts are being accepted through July 3, 2026. Submitters will be notified in September 2026.

IFN-λs have emerged as a fascinating and clinically relevant branch of the interferon family, with distinct roles at epithelial barriers and growing implications in antiviral immunity, cancer biology, and inflammatory disease. Whether you’re deep in the IFN-λ field or simply IFN-curious, this satellite workshop offers a rare opportunity to go deep on a single cytokine family in a setting that favors real scientific dialogue.

The workshop is sponsored by the CRUK Scotland Institute, PBL Assay Science, and EMBO.

Come for Cytokines 2026. Stay for the interferons.
