Professor Gabrielle Belz trained in veterinary medicine and surgery. She has made major contributions to the field of immunology (>220 papers) for which she was awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Science and has received the Gottschalk Medal (AAS) and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator Awards. Her interest is understanding how the fine tuning of the mucosal immune system of the gut and lung impact immune homeostasis and how the dysregulation of this system results in both local and systemic disease.
